CHAS accreditation success for Podium Surveying
3rd August 2020Cladding replacement

Podium is delighted to announce that it has recently secured a further cladding replacement appointment. Our brief is to produce a full detailed design, followed by a full Contract Administration role, for cladding replacement works to the residential block of flats. Our appointment follows a thorough examination of the existing cladding systems, including an exploratory opening-up survey, and the production of a detailed report analysing the cladding to both buildings concerning fire.
Both blocks have a top floor above 18m and so are classed as “relevant buildings” under Part B of the current Building Regulations. Our brief is to ensure that any new cladding applied is compliant with the Part B of the current Building Regulations, thus ensuring that there is minimal risk to its residents in relation to the spread of fire. Following the completion of the works, we will be providing a signed EWS1 form.
Podium is an experienced regulated Chartered Surveying practice who specialise, amongst other things, in fire safety. We have the in-house expertise to complete many aspects of fire safety, including the analysis of cladding to residential buildings. Internally, we are also able to sign off part A of the EWS1 form. Furthermore, we have partnered with a well-known Fire Engineering Consultancy to resolve more complex issues on buildings where combustible materials have been installed, leading to the ultimate completion of part B of the EWS1 form.
