Mears and Brighton & Hove City Council
Podium, (previously pod), acted as the designer on this project for Mears and Brighton and Hove City Council. We have been tasked with the investigation of a number of defects and producing a suitable design to repair and insulate the buildings to bring them to meet current thermal standards.
Service provided
Designer – responsible for an intrusive survey of the buildings to ascertain the condition of the structural frame of the buildings. The production of a full design which includes structural works and the thermal improvement of the buildings.
Principal Designer – Completion of the health and safety role ensuring that the correct procedures are followed to satisfy CDM 2015 and ensure that the client’s duties are discharged.
Key achievements
Detailed structural survey to ascertain the structural adequacy of each building. These buildings are of non-standard construction.
Production of a quality finish whilst maintaining value for money through good cost management.
Improving the U value for the properties to meet current new build standards.
Combating fuel poverty for the residents.
